Grant Process

Thanks to the support of many local donors, The Erie Community Foundation conducts a competitive grantmaking program that is open to charities and programs servicing Erie County. Income from unrestricted endowments perpetually supports this grantmaking program. Grants are awarded in four program areas:

The typical grant award ranges from $15,000 to $30,000, with flexibility to make exceptions for larger projects and community-approved capital campaigns. In all cases, the goal is to help local charities more effectively and efficiently accomplish their missions. Some typical grants might be for capital improvements, program development, transportation or technological enhancements. We strive to fund projects that touch many lives and enrich the overall quality of life in our region.
