Erie Gives is ONE WEEK AWAY!!
For the second year, The Erie Community Foundation will host, Erie Gives, an exciting, community-wide day of giving. On Tuesday, August 14th, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., donors can make an online donation to many of their favorite nonprofits by logging on to ErieGives.org or by clicking here.
Participating nonprofits will share a pro-rated match pool of $101,000 created by The Erie Community Foundation and GE Transportation. The more a nonprofit raises, the more of the pro-rated match it will receive. Last year, 213 nonprofits received an extra 14% on every dollar raised!!
“The goal of Erie Gives is to encourage philanthropy to a younger generation of donors, to increase online giving and utilization of social media, and to provide added value to members of The Nonprofit Partnership and those who have endowments at The Erie Community Foundation,” said Mike Batchelor, president of The Erie Community Foundation.
Nonprofits must be members of The Nonprofit Partnership or have an endowment with The Erie Community Foundation. The minimum online credit card gift is $25. Canadian donors are asked to call The Foundation.
Erie Gives Day is modeled after similar philanthropic days in Pittsburgh and Minnesota. The Erie Gives Day platform serves as a unique vehicle for nonprofits to showcase their work in the community.
