Local Nonprofits Saluted for Excellence
At the 11th Annual Nonprofit Day conference held yesterday at the Bayfront Convention Center in Erie, The Nonprofit Partnership offered a full day of education and training packed with workshops and lectures to improve management and governance for nonprofits throughout the region. “With the reductions in government funding for services that we’re seeing, coupled with increased demand, the need for stronger management and better fundraising has never been greater, “noted Robert Wooler, Director of The Nonprofit Partnership and organizer of the event.
In addition to offering the conference as a learning opportunity, this convening of nonprofit leaders from all sectors of the industry – health, education, human services, the environment, and arts and culture – is a celebration of achievements. One way nonprofit accomplishments are recognized is through an annual report competition in which organizations submit printed and digital copies of annual reports that profile the mission and accomplishments of their organization in the past year.
This year’s winners of cash prizes for the quality of their annual reports were Gannon University, Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania, and the Erie County Diabetes Association. “We believe annual reports can be one of the most powerful tools an organization uses to link mission, message, and money,” noted Tom Pysz, President of The Nonprofit Partnership’s board of directors, “so we take pride in recognizing those who create exemplary reports.” To learn more about The Nonprofit Day conference and its annual report award winners, please visit The Nonprofit Partnership’s website by clicking here.
