Attending EWF Events
Members have the opportunity to attend several events throughout the year to engage with other community-minded women. EWF’s events include:
- Grant receptions
- Annual Member Meeting*
- Platinum & Gold Reception**
- Icebreakers
- Educational forums
*Members only
**For members giving at the Platinum or Gold level
Staying Connected
Members can expect to hear from us on social media and via our monthly newsletter. Our communications will keep members up to date on upcoming events, grant offerings, and opportunities to get involved.
Engaging with Our Work
There is no minimum commitment of time with the Erie Women’s Fund – we encourage you to attend our events and get as involved as you are able.Â
If you are looking for a way to get to know fellow members and engage with our work, we invite you to explore our member committees – these committees drive every part of our work and offer a low-commitment way to be hands-on with EWF.
EDUCATION
The Education Committee is responsible for planning and hosting education sessions to help our members stay engaged and knowledgeable about issues women and their families face in our community. This committee is a good fit for you if you want to shed light on pertinent community issues and if your passion lies in empowering our members through education.
MEMBERSHIP
The Membership Committee is responsible for welcoming and orienting new EWF members to the group. Additionally the membership committee works to retain our current membership base and recruit new women to join. The more members we have, the greater good we can do for women and families in our area! This committee is perfect for you if you are passionate about engaging with members and improving EWF’s member experience.
GRANTS
The Grants Committee is responsible for requesting and reviewing grant proposals, narrowing the responses, and bringing the top candidates to full membership for a vote. Grants committee gets to read and screen requests from local nonprofits to decide which best fit our mission and should be brought to membership for consideration. There are two grants cycles throughout the year. The Grants Committee also tracks outcomes with previous grantees. This committee will be a great fit if you like to read and learn about needs in our community, and if you want to play a major role in helping to decide where our funds are deployed.
EVENTS
The Events Committee is responsible for planning and executing Erie Women’s Fund major events. Events include the Annual Summer Grant Announcement Gathering, the Holiday Party, and our many Icebreakers. This committee is popular with women who like to plan parties because our EWF members like to have fun!
WOMEN DRIVING PHILANTHROPY
This committee is tasked with the planning of our annual Women Driving Philanthropy Golf Outing, a women-only event that raises funds to support EWF’s mission. Members help to coordinate sponsorships and event details. Golfers and nongolfers alike are welcome – this committee is a great fit if you enjoy seeing an event come together and are looking for a seasonal commitment.
Note: because our outing is held in August, this committee only meets from January to September.
