Child Development Centers, Inc. (CDC) provides high-quality child care/early childhood education for about 900 young learners (mostly preschoolers) at 6 sites in Erie County (4 in Erie, 1 in Millcreek Township, 1 in Lake City). In addition to its new Downtown Child Development Center that opened this spring, CDC is building a new center at 2300 Cranberry Street on Erie's west side (site of the former Roosevelt Middle School). The 2 new centers will make room for up to 280 more infants, toddlers and preschoolers and will help to meet the demand for high-quality child care and early learning opportunities in the city. All CDC centers have Star 4 ratings (the highest) from PA's Keystone STARS educational quality improvement initiative.
