Mission

The Erie Free Store is open to anyone who needs a little extra help. There are three simple principles that we try to follow, and we hope you will, too:

Take what you need, be kind and pay it forward.

We are based on and completely inspired by Free Store 15104 in Braddock Pennsylvania.

Programs and Services

  • Weekly shopping hours, no ID or income requirements. In 2022, we are averaging around 75 shoppers per week (in 2.5 hours).
  • Car Seat Loan Program through PA Traffic Injury Prevention Program
  • Community Outreach events, such as cookouts, National Night Out Participation, Participation in Food N Cruze (2022)
  • Community service opportunities for individuals and small groups
  • In 2022, we hosted our first FREESTER dinner (Easter Dinner) and fed nearly 200 people around Erie via food donation.
