GRANTS
Furchak Ferko Grants address community gaps impacting local women and families, including transportation, healthcare, workforce training/education, housing, childcare, and food insecurity. This grant program was made possible by a legacy donor, Margaret Furchak Ferko, and is now a program of The Erie Women’s Fund. Grant awards vary each year but are approximately $30,000.

Criteria
Applicants must be Erie County 501 (c)3 organizations.
Who is not eligible?
Applications for for-profit, sectarian religious activities, fund-raising solely, or hospitality projects will not be considered.

Process
Log onto The Erie Community Foundation’s grants portal, GoApply, to access this application, which is publicly accessible. Prior approval and pre-application meetings are not required. Applicants will be notified before our December Grant Reception and invited to attend and celebrate with EWF.

What types of projects will be funded?
Projects that address community gaps and impact local women and families will be funded.
If I receive the Erie Women’s Fund Major Grant, can I still apply for the Furchak Ferko Grant?
You are not eligible to apply this year if you received funding from the Erie Women’s Fund within the last twelve months – from either the Major Grant or the previous year’s Furchak Ferko grant. If you have applied for an earlier Erie Women’s Fund grant but have not received funding, you are welcome to apply.
If I have received funding from The Erie Community Foundation, can I still apply for the Furchak Ferko Grant?
Yes – funding from non-Erie Women’s Fund grants at The Erie Community Foundation does not impact your eligibility for the Furchak Ferko grant.
Can I apply for multi-year funding?
No.
