The Emerging Erie Fund is a field of interest fund housed at The Erie Community Foundation and overseen by a volunteer advisory board. The Emerging Erie Fund is a group of rising professionals working to elevate Erie by awarding annual grants that invest in Erie’s People and Places and offer education, networking and events to members.

At an event to be held at 10/20 Collective, The Emerging Erie Fund, with support from corporate sponsors, will award $75,000 to Erie City Moms. This grant will support The “H.O.M.E.” Home Ownership for Mothers in Erie program by Erie City Moms (ECM), which directly contributes to attracting and retaining young professionals and families in Erie County by addressing critical issues such as housing insecurity, economic independence, and community development. By providing young mothers with the tools, resources, and support to achieve homeownership, ECM helps create a stable and attractive living environment. This stability is essential for retaining young families, as homeownership is a key factor in community investment and long-term residency. Moreover, the program emphasizes the importance of financial literacy, personal development, and leadership skills, which are vital to the economic and social vitality of Erie.

"We are grateful for our sponsors and members, who allow us to award grants that drive positive change for Erie"," said Nick Cianci, Chair of the Emerging Erie Fund. "We are proud to support Erie City Moms with our 2024 grant, as they provide crucial resources to young mothers who will become empowered members of the community." By empowering young mothers, particularly those from underrepresented groups, ECM fosters a diverse and inclusive community that appeals to young professionals who value social equity and community engagement. The H.O.M.E. program consists of several key activities designed to support young mothers in their journey toward homeownership and economic stability.
