On the busy corner of 8th and the Bayfront Parkway, the Country Fair leadership announced a new and exciting partnership with Erie Gives, a community-spirited event of The Erie Community Foundation and its corporate and community partners.
In front of the Country Fair Charity Pumps, Stacy Kline, Advertising Manager of Country Fair announced that.02 of every gallon from the gas pumps will be donated to all the Erie Gives nonprofits evenly. “Giving back to our community is important to everyone at Country Fair because our customers have been loyal to us for nearly 60 years,” said Kline. “We started a soft launch of the Country Fair Cares program in April and to date, we have raised over $40,000 for Erie Gives nonprofits!”
To donate, patrons of Country Fair can pull up to any Country Fair pump, enter their CITOG Loyalty ID number at the pump before filling the tank, and pay with a CITGO gas card. Customers will save .13 cents per gallon, and Country Fair donates .02 cents per gallon to Erie Gives! To become a CITGO loyalty member, patrons can scan the QR code at the pump or visit www.mycitgostore.com
“What’s different about this campaign is all pumps at our 36 Country Fair locations are eligible for an Erie Gives donation when a patron is signed up and utilizes a CITGO cash card,” added Kline. The program runs from now through Erie Gives on Tuesday, August 13.
“Every day at The Erie Community Foundation we help inspire, engage and empower donors and communities to create a united, vibrant region,” said Erie Community Foundation President & CEO Karen Bilowith. “Erie Gives is an important part of this mission as it is a way to engage hundreds of donors in the great work of our region’s nonprofit organizations, and this new partnership offers the opportunity for everyone to be involved.” Bilowith also announced that new this year, the Erie Gives website will be live from midnight to midnight, and staff will answer phones form 8AM to 8PM.
The year 2024 marks the 14th anniversary of Erie Gives, which was first introduced in 2011 to celebrate the Foundation’s 75th anniversary, to introduce the idea of philanthropy to younger generations, to highlight the power of online collective giving and to help nonprofits with marketing.
In 2023, the event raised over $8.2 million for 492 nonprofits. To date, Erie Gives has raised over $56.5 million in its 13-year history. Erie Gives provides vital financial support to nonprofits and helps nonprofits cultivate lasting relationships with new donors.
