Hear Erie’s Youth! (H.E.Y!), a dynamic program under the umbrella of The Erie Community Foundation, spearheaded by local middle and high school students, is once again spreading holiday cheer throughout Erie County. H.E.Y! is on a mission to empower youth to comprehend genuine community challenges, fostering their voices and perspectives to advocate for a more robust and inclusive community.
H.E.Y! focuses on equipping its members with a comprehensive understanding of community issues while encouraging them to actively contribute their voices and perspectives. The program facilitates learning from community leaders, imparts philanthropic knowledge, invests real dollars in addressing youth and community-related issues, engages in hands-on service learning, and elevates the youth voice across the region.
This holiday season, H.E.Y! is proud to announce the commencement of its fifth annual Random Acts of Kindness campaign, an initiative organized by the youth philanthropy leaders at The Erie Community Foundation. The campaign aims to bring joy and support to families in Erie County through acts of kindness orchestrated by H.E.Y! members. The initiatives span various organizations and include heartening gestures such as the donation of toys, the purchase of new coats and winter items for children in need, and the spread of holiday cheer by delivering pizzas for festive gatherings.
These impactful acts reflect H.E.Y!’s commitment to nurturing a sense of community, compassion, and generosity among its members. Each act contributes to the collective goal of making the holiday season brighter for families across Erie County.
