We are still counting Erie Gives!!

As Erie celebrates 814 Day, the day after the monumental Erie Gives, The Erie Community Foundation and its regional affiliates are excited to announce that the closing number on the Erie Gives website of $6.6 million and 29,000 gifts is not only unofficial but continues to grow and will succeed the results of 2023.
“Keeping pace with the generosity of Erie Gives donors takes time, and we appreciate the patience of our community, our donors and the nonprofits,” said Karen Bilowith, president & CEO of The Erie Community Foundation. “Our team worked for months to create a successful day and the Erie Gives donors responded with overwhelming enthusiasm.”
On Tuesday, August 13, the staff and volunteers answered over 500 phone calls and processed and uploaded as many of the 3,000 checks as possible. That work continues today and over the next few days.
While the Foundation expects to share closer estimates in the coming week, final numbers will be announced at a press conference on Tuesday, September 17. Nonprofits will receive their checks including the Bonus Bucks, the Country Fair Charity Pump donation and other incentives by the end of September.
To build upon the success of Erie Gives, the Foundation introduced new hours with the website being open from midnight to midnight, a new logo, new partnerships with Country Fair and Erie Apparel, a new phone bank headquarters, new sponsors, and 38 new nonprofits. “We encourage donors and nonprofits to continue to monitor ErieGives.org to see the numbers climb, which is very exciting!” Bilowith added.
