Donors Choose
The Erie Community Foundation partners with DonorsChoose.org for a “Double Your Impact” program to help teachers raise money for exciting classroom projects taking place in Erie County’s public schools. Donors Choose is simple: teachers post their projects on www.donorschoose.org; you decide if you want to make an online gift of any amount to the project, and any donation you make is matched, dollar-for-dollar by The Erie Community Foundation.
You can see the school projects on the website www.DonorsChoose.org and make a donation. Through the “Double Your Impact” program, the Erie Community Foundation will match any donation made to an Erie County public school project (with a total project cost of $800 or less). The campaign is set to take effect mid-March and will continue until funds are exhausted.
Dramatic funding cuts and budget constraints, now more than ever, mean our teachers are asked to do more with less. The Foundation continues to partner with Donors Choose to help teachers provide their students with the tools necessary to create a foundation for academic success, encourage growth and promote a love of learning. Erie Vital Signs continues to track progress of our Erie County students in math and reading, two subjects essential to success. By supporting school projects, we can move the needle of one of the key indicators of our community.
