Through the collective generosity of its supporters, the LGBT Fund of the Erie Community Foundation is improving the lives of LGBTQ+ people and advancing the Erie region’s LGBTQ+ community with grants to organizations, scholarships to individuals, and support of grassroots initiatives. 

To date, the Fund has issued more than $35,000 in grants to local organizations serving individuals who identify as LGBTQ+ and awarded more than $12,000 in scholarships to area students.

The LGBT Fund is the only organization of its kind in the Erie region focused solely on actions that meet the needs of the LGBTQ+ community.  Donors to the fund support an organized, intentional approach to funding programs, activities, and initiatives that:

• Help LGBTQ+ people in our region build healthy, productive lives.
• Promote equity and inclusiveness and make the Erie region a more welcoming environment for LGBTQ+ individuals.
• Address discrimination and disparities in health and wellness, safety, education, and opportunity that members of the LGBTQ+ community face due to sexual orientation and/or gender identity.

In supporting the LGBT Fund, donors combine their gifts for greater support of organizations and individuals than singular gifts might achieve. Together, the collective gifts of those who believe in the mission of the LGBT Fund create a sustainable form of support—a resource for the LGBTQ+ community in our region for years to come.
